The Ottawa Art Gallery is celebrating its 15th year with a summer showcase of new and recent work by three dynamic artists from our community.

Gallery 1: Eliza Griffiths

The psycho-sexual narratives presented in Eliza Griffiths' paintings are brought to cinematic scale in this body of figurative work that centres on the transits between nurturance and dysfunction in female and male interactions.

Gallery 2: Frank Shebageget

Among the icons of Canada’s aviation history is the Beaver float-plane, first produced by DeHavilland in 1947 and still in use today. In an installation of some 1600 suspended models of the aircraft (equivalent to the company’s production), Frank Shebageget explores this transport’s vital importance within Native history and to the economies and social configurations of remote communities.

Gallery 3: Alexandre Castonguay

Transitions in the captured image of the participating subject are among the features of this interactive, computer-based installation. Alexandre Castonguay utilizes camera, touch screen and projection to set up an interplay between the body, technology and time. Also featured are his large digitally-edited photographs of local sites.
