History of Art and Artists from Ottawa and Surroundings, 1790 - 1970; Part III, 1946-1970
Essays by Jim Burant, Pat Durr, Duncan de Kergommeaux

The Ottawa Art Gallery presented this third exhibition in a series, conceived to offer a vivid reminder of the work of a group of artists who contributed to the rich visual history of the Ottawa region. This final exhibit is significant, linking the historical and the modern, and affords the added pleasure of rediscovering several early works by a number of Canada's well-known practising artists. In the period from 1946 to 1970, the artistic scene finally began to explode in a riot of colour, talent and energy. Ottawa finally became a place to be and was, if not an artist's paradise, at least an influential centre of artistic expression and creativity.
